This site is intended to assist landowners and farmers develop farm lease arrangements that are profitable and sustainable for the landowner, the farmer, the community, and the land.

The site includes a video library, The Landowner’s Guide to Sustainable Farm Leasing, Determining Priorities and Exploring Possibilities, and a quick reference guide.

This site is part of the Drake Agricultural Law Center’s work on the Sustainable Agricultural Land Tenure (SALT)  Initiative. The SALT Initiative is a joint project conducted by Drake University’s Agricultural Law Center and the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University. The work of the Initiative includes analysis of existing data and information on land ownership patterns, farm lease agreements, and local and state policies that impact agricultural sustainability and stewardship in order to provide learning opportunities for farmers, landowners, attorneys, educators, and public officials.
